About
Apps have flooded the market, and every one of them swears it's not just a hookup app. Nobody takes a risk in public anymore. Nobody walks up and says hi.
Then you open social media and both sides are yelling the same thing: you're better off alone. Women are toxic, entitled, bringing nothing but drama and expectations. Men are toxic, all they want is a traditional wife to meet their every desire. Pick your villain. Either way, the message is: don't bother.
Modern dating is a sh*t show. Then layer on top of that your values, your preferences, the future you actually want, and it starts to feel like a full-on hopeless disaster.
I get it. I've been through more than one breakup. I know what it's like to lose every piece of a relationship at once, from the everyday companionship to the future you'd already pictured. I've had my heart broken, but I also know the pain of breaking someone else's.
I've re-read and rewritten more texts than I can count, and had just as many fake fights in my own head, trying to control what was never in my hands. I've been good, bad, and everything in between. And I wish I'd had a guide to healthy relationships, especially on the days I really just wanted to say f*** it all in the face of cultural norms, unmet expectations, and my own weakness.
But it doesn't have to go that way. As Christians we don't always date well, and we don't always break up well. We can do this differently. Modern Christian Dating is here to help you date with wisdom, grieve honestly, heal well, and walk into what's next stronger, not bitter. Because bitterness isn't healing, and cynicism isn't wisdom.
"Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life." Proverbs 4:23 (WEB)
