How do I know it's time to move on?
You've prayed about it. You've asked for signs. You've read every text again looking for a clue. And you're still stuck between "maybe they'll come back" and "I need to let this go."
Signs it's time
- They've clearly told you it's over, and you're waiting for them to take it back.
- Your hope is built on what they might become, not who they are.
- You're keeping the door open, and they aren't walking through it.
- The waiting is making you more anxious, not more at peace.
- The people who love you most are all saying the same thing.
Moving on isn't erasing
You can be grateful for what it was and still close the door. Box up the stuff. Delete the thread, or archive it somewhere you won't scroll. Tell a friend you're doing it, so it's real.
"Don't remember the former things, and don't consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing. It springs out now. Don't you know it?" Isaiah 43:18-19 (WEB)
A new thing doesn't have to mean a new person. Sometimes it's just a new you.
