I love God, but I feel far from Him since the breakup.
A lot of people say some version of this: "I prayed for this relationship, I tried to do it right, and it still fell apart. Now I don't even feel like praying."
If that's you, take a breath. Feeling far from God isn't the same as being far from God.
A few honest things
- You're allowed to be disappointed. Read the Psalms. They're full of people telling God exactly how they feel.
- Small counts. You don't need an hour of devotions. Try one honest sentence a day: "I'm tired. Help."
- Go to church anyway, even if you sit in the back. You don't have to perform. Just show up.
- Watch what you numb with. Scrolling, drinking, rebounding: they help for one night and cost you a month.
"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28 (WEB)
Jesus didn't say "come once you've got it together." He said come. Tired counts.
